Christmas Sock Pairs Activity

A fun way to incorporate maths into the festive season. Cut out the 24 colour pictures of socks for children to make into pairs of Christmas socks. They can look out for the odd picture, that shows a pair of socks, rather than a single one, as a talking point. Once the socks are all paired, children can use the sock template worksheet to create their own Christmas designs on the white socks and make these into matching pairs. Children can look out for pattern and colour to help them with their sorting and matching. There is a blank sheet that children can paste pairs onto or draw their own socks and designs. For younger children and / or a practical element, ask children to bring in a pair of socks and create a class sorting sock activity!

This resource is a collection of 10 worksheets designed for Key Stage 1 teachers to help children learn how to draw simple Christmas-themed pictures. Each worksheet focuses on a different festive item, such as a snowman, reindeer, gingerbread man, Christmas star, or Father Christmas. The pictures are broken down into easy-to-follow steps, guiding children from basic shapes to the completed image. For example, the worksheet for drawing a snowman includes steps such as: Drawing the snowman’s face. Adding the body below the face. Drawing the hat on top of the snowman’s head. Adding facial features like eyes and nose (carrot). Drawing the twig arms and scarf around the neck. Finishing with a fully coloured-in snowman. These worksheets provide a fun way for children to develop their drawing skills while getting into the Christmas spirit.
